In his newest Netflix special “Equanimity,”  comedian Dave Chappelle made a punchline out of Golden State Warriors player, Draymond Green.

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is normally the guy who tells all the jokes, but in Dave Chappelle’s newest (and last) Netflix special entitled Dave Chappelle: Equanimity, the renowned comedian made Draymond the punchline of a joke concerning transracial figurehead, Nkechi Amare Diallo — more commonly known as Rachel Dolezal.

Chappelle sets up the joke by mentioning the former president of the NAACP chapter in Spokane, WA, relating Dolezal’s personal identification as an African American to how a transgender person identifies as a different gender than the one they were assigned at birth.

He says in order for him to fully believe and support Dolezal’s commitment to being African American, Dolezal would have to change her name to the “blackest sh*t” he’s ever heard: Draymond Green.

It’s not only a hilarious joke, but it’s an incredibly creative way to shoutout a player from his favorite basketball team. He continued to poke fun at Draymond Green’s name, saying, “If you type ‘Draymond Green into Airbnb, that sh*t will log off automatically.”

Draymond Green took the joke well, responding to Chappelle via Twitter saying, “C’mon bro, I just named my son ‘Draymond’ hahaha.”

Chappelle is widely recognized as a fan of the Golden State Warriors. Famously referred to as “Our friend Dave” at Oracle Arena, Chappelle has been sighted at Warriors games as early as 2013, which happened to be the season the Dubs made their first postseason appearance in half a decade.

The 2013 season was also Draymond Green’s rookie year. Like Chappelle, Draymond has consistently been a controversial celebrity for the majority of his career, so it’s entirely understandable why Chappelle would be a fan of the 6-foot-7 small-ball big man.
