I was in Dallas over the New Year’s Eve Weekend for the Cotton Bowl, and the first billboard I noticed was not one promoting the bowl game to be played on December 29th, but it was hyping up the Warriors-Mavericks game on January 3rd — almost a week later.
And the featured Mavericks’ player was Harrison Barnes, which made me chuckle a bit (about the only chuckle I had all week. Thanks, Ohio State).
That’s just how popular the Warriors are these days. Their road games are must-see events because everyone wants to watch this superteam. That was clear in Dallas.
In Houston, it was a matchup between the two top teams in the West. And games against the Clippers are basically attended by Lakers fans who want a cheap ticket to watch the Warriors.
