The Golden State Warriors Most Daunting Road Trip of the Steve Kerr Era
Houston, we have a problem
In the final game of the trip, the Warriors will face the Rockets on Saturday night. The NBA is hoping that James Harden will be back in time for this prime-time tilt featuring the two best teams in the Western Conference. If Harden does play, the Warriors will have to contend with arguably the top MVP candidate behind LeBron James.
Harden is averaging 32 points, nine assists per game and is shooting a career-high 39 percent from three-point range. Harden has been revitalized with the addition of Chris Paul, allowing Harden to play more off the ball. With Paul in the lineup the Rockets are 19-4, but one of those losses was against the Warriors.
With Harden out of the lineup, the Rockets go-to scorer has been Eric Gordon. Gordon scored a game-high 30 points in the last meeting against the Warriors in a 124-114 victory for Golden State. Gerald Green has been pleasant surprise as well averaging 17 points per game, including 29 against Golden State.
As long as the Warriors have a healthy roster, they should duplicate their performance from early January. The Warriors just have too much firepower for the Rockets and should be able to finish a 4-1 road trip.
