3. D-West, a.k.a. “Benjamin Button,” jams it with the left

David West has looked even better this year with the Golden State Warriors than he did last year. He legitimately looks to have a spring in his step that wasn’t there last season, throwing down power dunks with relative ease.

And that’s exactly what he did on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, taking his defender off the dribble before jamming home the left-handed hammer.

Breaking down the play, it looked as if the Warriors were trying to set up D-West for his bread and butter shot from the high post. Draymond Green had the ball on the low block opposite West, waiting for West to come off the down screen.

But instead of taking the elbow jumper, West opted to put the ball on the floor, seeing an opening as his defender remained busy trying to work around the down screen. Then he dunked it with his left hand.

This season, West is averaging 7.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 blocks in 13.3 minutes per game. He’s also been incredibly efficient in his 43 appearances this year, shooting 61.1 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from behind the arc (3-of-7) and 70.2 percent from the free throw line.
