Favorite Warriors Moments of the Week: Captain Curry, the Warriors bench, and more!
By Axl DC
In yet another entertaining week for the Golden State Warriors, writer Axl Dela Cruz names his favorite moments.
The Golden State Warriors have tied the record they set two years ago of 14 straight road wins and a win in Houston tonight will set a new franchise record. If they keep rolling, they might even tie the NBA’s longest road win streak of 16 held by the 1971-1972 Los Angeles Lakers.
While the Warriors are again poised to tie or break another NBA record, here are our favorite Warriors moments of the week!
1. Captain Curry
It’s official. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were chosen as All-Star starters and Curry will be the one of the two All-Star Game captains. This is perfect. Steph genuinely wants to be the captain and thinks this whole new scheme is going to be fun.
(The NBA has confirmed that the drafting process will not be aired and that sucks.)
He’s even thinking about just taking all the guards and creating the smallest team possible!
2. The Warriors bench
When your team is winning, there are a lot of reasons to celebrate and the Warriors’ bench does not disappoint.

Klay Thompson making Ibaka stumble was nice, but the bench reaction was even better. They just started falling to the ground like they were melting. Of course, JaVale started it.
3. This play.
Kevin. Freaking. Durant. This dunk had some kind of regalness into it and it was amazing.
And hey, good business decision, LeBron.
4. Steph DUNKING!
If Durant’s dunks are great, Stephen Curry‘s dunks are better. That’s mosty because Steph blesses us with 30-footers and crossover plays on a nightly basis, and rarely dunks. He even said “It was like a unicorn sighting”. (Sure, Steph.)
That was his first dunk of the season, 42 games in, and 28th career dunk, as per Basketball Reference.
The Warriors had a good laugh about this during their postgame interviews and Steph said, “It was like a dream” and that “It took everything in me to get up there”.
Not bad, Steph.
5. Klay trying to hit JaVale with a snowball
Everybody knows that Klay Thompson is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, a sharpshooter. But look at how badly he missed hitting JaVale with a snowball in the video posted on JaVale’s Instagram story below.
The best part was Klay even had his phone ready to record the whole thing and was hiding under the plane, and he was just so off target. Never change, Klay.
I’m probably gonna end all of these articles with a favorite Klay Thompson moment of the week because he’s the best.
See you all next week!
