The Golden State Warriors will resume their 3-game homestand on Thursday when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Fresh off their 5-game road trip, the Golden State Warriors didn’t exactly look like the reigning NBA champions in the initial moments of their first game back at Oracle Arena last Tuesday, but they ended up rallying in the second half to pull off the 123-112 victory.

On Thursday night, the Dubs will play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who will be coming off a 123-114 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers just the night before.

Sporting a regular season win/loss record of 31-19, the T-Wolves have been in a continuous battle with the San Antonio Spurs for control of the third seed in the Western Conference.

A win over the Warriors on Thursday would not only be a season achievement for Minny, but it would get them one step closer to retaking their top-3 spot in the West.

Key(s) to the Game

Minny is no joke. At this point in the season, Minnesota ranks 2nd in points off turnovers (18.7), 3rd in second chance points (14.4), and fifth in points in the paint (48.2). Suffice to say, the reunion of Jimmy Butler and Tom Thibodeau has certainly paid off, and the evolution of Karl-Anthony Towns has been an absolute pleasure to watch.

Therefore, the keys to the game are rather simple: keep the T-Wolves off the offensive glass, and don’t be careless with the ball. Unfortunately, the Warriors recently lost to the Houston Rockets by doing the exact opposite.

Plus, Minny’s starting lineup matches up with Golden State’s incredibly well, so it’s not surprising that the Wolves have given the Warriors trouble before. I hope the Warriors don’t come out of the gates slow like they normally do, lest the game get out of hand early.
