KEVIN DURANT: 28 POINTS/10 REBOUNDS/11 ASSISTS VS WOLVES
Durant’s game continues to evolve as a Warrior. His assist total against the Timberwolves was the most impressive stat of his triple-double night. It’s impressive due to the fact that a high number of assists isn’t what you would expect from him.
The 11 dimes against Minny came off of the heels of Durant’s career-high 14-assist night against the Knicks, helping result in a balanced scoring effort among the Warriors’ core. The Splash Brothers scored 25 a piece, and yet Durant managed to still get his in the flow of the offense.
If you ask defensive coach Ron Adams, Durant’s ability to pass the ball isn’t surprising.
“There’s no part of his game he cannot do at an extremely high level, and that was probably true at 18.” Adams told the SF Gate. “Sometimes, it takes a roster to bring it out of you”
In addition to the assists, Durant’s 10 boards helped the Warriors win the battle of the boards against a long and athletic Minnesota team.
