The Warriors didn’t make a move before the NBA trade deadline, but that doesn’t necessarily mean their roster will stay the same. What should Golden State do in the coming days and weeks?

The NBA trade deadline came and went without the Warriors making a move. Despite rumors surrounding the team, they did not acquire Avery Bradley, Joe Harris, Tyreke Evans, Kyle O’Quinn, Marco Belinelli, or anyone else that was connected to Golden State in trade talks.

However, the Warriors could be very active in the post-trade deadline buyout market, which could make some quality players available in the next week or so.

Channing Frye was traded from Cleveland to the Lakers as a part of the Isaiah Thomas Deal, but his contract may be bought out which would make him a free agent. Adding a shooter like Frye to the Warriors’ bench could improve the offensive struggles in that unit.

Joe Johnson was traded from Utah to Sacramento in a three-team deal, and he will reportedly seek a buyout from the Kings. The Warriors’ depth on the wings has been disappointing this season, and adding a veteran like Joe Johnson could add some scoring prowess to the bench.

Marco Belinelli could also be available in the buyout market, and he could add some much-needed shooting off of the bench.

The buyout market could provide a number of quality players who would be willing to sign a minimum contract with the Warriors in order to chase a ring.

Golden State would have to clear a roster spot to acquire someone in the buyout market, and JaVale McGee would likely be the odd man out if they decide to make a move.

For now all we can do is speculate, but we’ll keep you updated on the latest reports regarding the Warriors’ roster over the coming weeks.
