The Warriors host the Spurs on primetime television on Saturday night in a battle between two of the top three teams in the Western Conference.

Saturday night’s matchup marks only the second time Golden State has played San Antonio this season.

The Warriors won the first meeting between these two teams by a score of 112-92 back on November 2. The Spurs jumped out to a 33-24 lead in the first quarter, but Golden State cut into that lead in the second quarter and totally dominated the second half to secure the victory.

The Warriors held the Spurs to 14 points in the fourth quarter as they outscored San Antonio 62-37 in the second half.

The Spurs were missing Kawhi Leonard that night, and they will be without him again on Saturday night. Including last year’s playoff series, Kawhi has missed the past four meetings between Golden State and San Antonio.

Outside of Jordan Bell, the Warriors should be at full health for this primetime matchup, and some of their older players looked as fresh as they had been all season in the second half of Golden State’s victory over Dallas on Thursday night.

The Warriors currently hold a 7.5 game lead over the Spurs for the number one seed in the West, but they may have to play San Antonio in a second round playoff matchup if Houston passes Golden State up for the top seed.

Next: How do the Golden State Warriors Fix Their Defensive Issues?

Without Kawhi on the floor, the Spurs just don’t have enough firepower to keep up with the Warriors. Golden State should fully come out of their pre-All-Star break slump with an important win over San Antonio on Saturday night.
