Warriors: Patrick McCaw Out Four Weeks with Wrist Injury
By Andrew Ites
Warriors swingman Patrick McCaw is coming off of one of his best games of the season against Phoenix, but he will be forced to miss some time with a wrist injury.
After a rough first half of the season, Patrick McCaw requested that he spend some time in the G League to regain some confidence. McCaw averaged 14 points in two games for the Santa Cruz Warriors with 4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
His stint in the G League looked like a perfect solution for McCaw’s struggles as he gave one of his best performances of the season in Monday night’s win over the Suns with 9 points on 4/6 shooting. He looked much more confident after his time in Santa Cruz as he showed no hesitation in taking open shots.
Unfortunately, McCaw‘s progress over the past week or two will be set back as ESPN’s Chris Haynes reports that he will be forced to sit out approximately four weeks after suffering a fracture in his left wrist.

The Warriors have now lost two of their most promising young players for an extended amount of time as Jordan Bell is still out after injuring his ankle in mid-January.
Golden State was already lacking some quality depth on the wing before McCaw’s injury, and his absence may cause the Warriors’ front office to take a closer look at bringing in another wing player to give them quality minutes off of the bench.
McCaw’s injury will prevent him from getting some key minutes for his development before the playoffs, but the Warriors should be able to survive just fine while he recovers.
