Is an Anthony Davis Trade the Next Blockbuster Move for the Warriors?
By Andrew Ites
The Warriors are no strangers to bringing in superstars, and they could do so again by trading for Anthony Davis this offseason.
If the Pelicans are unable to add more talent around Anthony Davis and they continue to stay on the fringes of the Western Conference playoff picture, Davis may force his way out of New Orleans.
The Boston Celtics have been the team with the closest connection to Davis in trade rumors, but why aren’t people discussing the possibility of the Warriors making a move for the five-time All-Star?
Golden State would have to give up a lot in a possible trade for Anthony Davis. That could include Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, whose contract is up after next season.
While that could shake up the team chemistry, it may be a necessary change to keep this dynasty going.

The Warriors already look tired and unmotivated this season after just one championship run with the current core. Bringing in some new blood could add much-needed energy to this team, and adding a player who is hungry for his first championship is something that would provide a jump start to this roster.
Davis is only 24 years old, and he still might have 10+ years of playing at an All-NBA level left in his career. He could eventually become the future leader in Golden State as Kevin Durant and Steph Curry pass their prime.
AD’s durability has been a question mark during his career, but he has yet to suffer an extremely serious injury.
Losing Draymond and Klay would signal the end of an era in Golden State, but that’s what it might take to acquire a player as talented as Anthony Davis.

The Warriors’ front office has proven that they’re unafraid of taking big risks to bring in talent, but I don’t think they would be able to pull the trigger on a move like this.
