In the latest ‘Surf City Summary,’ we celebrate forward Terrence Jones, who will be representing the Santa Cruz Warriors during NBA All-Star Weekend in the NBA G League International Challenge on Sunday.

Instead of hosting a G League All-Star Game during All-Star Weekend, the NBA has opted to mix things up this year, instead pitting the USA Basketball World Cup Qualifying Team against the Mexico National Team.

The 2018 NBA G League International Challenge, as they’re calling it, is the first time NBA All-Star Weekend has featured an international exhibition game. This event will precede the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers, which will take place later in the month in Santa Cruz, Calif.

The USA Basketball World Cup Qualifying Team is made up of 13 G Leaguers, each of whom were hand selected by the USA Basketball Men’s World Cup Qualifying Committee. The International Challenge will not only give G Leaguers an opportunity to showcase their talents, but it will also provide the NBA with positive exposure on a global scale.

Right in the thick of things will be Santa Cruz Warriors forward Terrence Jones, who’s appeared in 13 games for the Sea Dubs on per game averages of 19.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks on 55.3 percent shooting.

To celebrate his appearance in the International Challenge, we’re dedicating the latest edition of the “Surf City Summary” to Jones, breaking down some of the aspects his game that makes him such a beneficial piece to Surf City.
