Range
Terrence Jones is currently averaging 35.1 percent from behind the arc, which ranks fourth among the Warriors’ eligible players. He shoots 2.8 attempts from long range each game, helping to spread the floor for the Sea Dubs.
He has a rather slow shot form, but it seems to work for him. In the play below, Jones attempts to explode past his defender following a pump fake, but the defender opts to give him space rather than see him blow by.
What happens is Jones regains his balance and makes the defender pay.
With the loss of James Southerland due to a trade with the South Bay Lakers, I’d certainly expect Jones’ attempts to go up slightly. The Warriors like to use their power forward as an anchor point to help keep the ball moving, which occasionally puts Jones behind the three-point line.
If opponents give him space or back up to prevent the assist, then it helps to have a relatively accurate long range shot like Jones.
