Finishing out the season

The Blue reasserted their dominance in the next game, defeating the Warriors 131-117. Jabari Brown led the Warriors’ scoring effort with 25 points, one rebound, four assists and one steal, shooting a solid 9-of-11 from the field (81.8 percent), 3-of-5 from behind the arc (60.0 percent) and 4-of-6 from the free throw line (66.7 percent).

OKC put the nail in the coffin a couple days later, finishing off the Warriors 124-104. Brown finished with 30 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal on 12-of-20 shooting (60.0 percent).

Despite a couple of double-doubles from Southerland (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Jones (17 points, 12 rebounds), the Warriors simply didn’t have a fourth scorer to help out. The Blue had one player finish with 30 points, while five others finished in double-digits — three of which finished with 20+.

Nevertheless, Brown had made a good enough impression to earn a Summer League stint with the Warriors later on. Although he was unsuccessful in carving out a spot for himself on the final roster, he’s most certainly a sight for sore eyes as the 2018 season comes to a close.

With the introduction of the two-way contract, Brown’s chances of making it to the big leagues has considerably increased. If he brings the same energy he brought last season and makes a positive impact, I have no doubt he’ll be on a two-way in no time.
