The league has been going through the film from Saturday’s emotional game between the Thunder and the Warriors, and they’ve decided to rescind Draymond Green’s technical foul.

Earlier today, news broke that the NBA would not discipline Zaza Pachulia for falling on Russell Westbrook. They’ve sided with the Warriors again by taking away a technical foul from Draymond Green.

Draymond was assessed a technical after a block attempt on Jerami Grant that was ruled a personal foul. The referee thought that Green was taunting Grant when he was actually just trying to fire up the crowd.

The Warriors-Thunder rivalry has always created some intense moments, and Saturday night’s game was no different. This incident occurred at a very emotional part of the game coming after Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony’s shoving match, which was the first altercation of the night.

This technical foul was significant because it would’ve been the 15th time Draymond had been T’d up this season, and his 16th technical would have given him a one-game suspension and a $5,000 fine.

Draymond still leads the league with 14 technical fouls after this one was taken away, but it gives him a little more breathing room to avoid a suspension during the final 22 games of the season.

The Warriors-Thunder games always get a close look from the league, and they had plenty of material to look through from the most recent matchup. The league may review every technical foul in every game, but I think there have been a couple of weak technicals against Green and Kevin Durant this season that should’ve been rescinded as well.

However, it’s difficult to get mad at the NBA after they just essentially gave Draymond a mulligan.
