Should Steph Curry be Offended by Kevin Durant’s Latest Comments
By Andrew Ites
Kevin Durant participated in a recent interview with LeBron James that contained some comments that could rub Steph Curry the wrong way.
Kevin Durant and LeBron James rode in an Uber together driven by ESPN host Cari Champion in a feature entitled “Rolling with the Champion” for The Undefeated.
There is a snippet of the segment that has been converted into a commercial where Durant and LeBron both agree that they are the top two players in the NBA.
One person who may disagree with that comment is Durant’s teammate Steph Curry, who is the only player in league history to unanimously win an MVP award and he has another MVP in his trophy case.
The Warriors are undoubtedly Steph Curry’s team, and that hasn’t changed with the addition of Kevin Durant. Durant seems to have gained some confidence after winning his first championship and a Finals MVP award last season, but it’s important that he understands who began this dynasty in Golden State.

You really can’t go wrong in picking between Curry and Durant. Curry has a better player efficiency rating, scoring average, and is dishing more assists per game this season, but Durant has grabbed more rebounds and has been one of the best shot-blockers in the league this year.
It really doesn’t matter who the better player is as long as they can get along and keep the strong team chemistry the Warriors have developed.
Durant is obviously a big fan of LeBron, and LeBron would be clever to try to create a rift between the two superstar players on his biggest rival.
Durant probably shouldn’t have said that him and LeBron were the best two players in the league without mentioning Steph, and I’m sure a competitor like Curry didn’t appreciate him saying that. Hopefully it will simply light a fire for Steph to be even better this season and not create any sort of drama between the Warriors’ two former MVP’s.
