Andre Iguodala has been vital to the Warriors’ success in the Steve Kerr era, and they’ll need a great performance again from him this season to win another championship.

Andre Iguodala got off to a bit of a sluggish start to the season before the All-Star break, but it looks like the week off had more of a positive effect on him than nearly anyone else on the team.

In the five games after the All-Star break, Iguodala is averaging 7.5 points per game and shooting an incredible 68% from the field. On the year, Iguodala had been shooting just 45.9% and scoring 5.8 points per game.

He’s also look rejuvenated on the defensive end as his steal and score against the Hawks sealed a victory for the Warriors, and that play made it’s way onto our favorite moments of the week.

It’s impossible to expect Iguodala to continue to shoot 68% going forward, but even if he can shoot around 50% for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs that would really help the Warriors’ offensive struggles off the bench.

Iguodala will still be a member of the Warriors’ best lineup, which Tim Kawakami has dubbed the “Hamptons five”, that includes Iggy, Steph, Klay, Draymond and Durant, and that unit will be essential in matching up with the Rockets’ small-ball lineup in a potential playoff series.

Iguodala had been one of the Warriors’ most disappointing players for much of the year, but it looks like he was saving something for this final stretch run as Golden State looks to jump Houston for the number one seed.
