The Golden State Warriors put together a well-executed third quarter, propelling them to the upset win vs. the Phoenix Suns.

The Golden State Warriors had another one of their dominant third quarters, and it was just enough to get them over the hump against the Phoenix Suns on the tail end of a back-to-back.

Kicking off a short 2-game road trip with a visit to Talking Stick Resort Arena on Saturday, the reigning NBA champions had a bit of trouble warming up in Arizona, waking up in the second half to defeat the Suns 124-109.

The Dubs traded baskets with Phoenix to start the night, going down 34-30 in the first quarter. The Suns created a considerable lead midway through the second quarter, going up by as many as 15 points before Golden State was able to cut the deficit to eight by halftime.

Then as they typically do, the Warriors had an incredible third quarter, scoring 42 points while holding Phoenix to 25. They closed out the night with a 30-26 fourth quarter, securing the unexpected victory in the Grand Canyon State.

Saturday night in Phoenix

Just a night after scoring 25 points in a loss to the Sacramento Kings, Warriors two-way contract player Quinn Cook continued his hot streak on Saturday, pacing the Warriors with a career-high 28 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 39 minutes.

He was just as efficient as he was last night at Oracle Arena, shooting 11-of-17 from the field, 5-of-7 from behind the arc and 1-of-1 from the free throw line.
