After suffering a night-ending pelvic contusion due to a knee to the groin from Danny Green, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors called out the media for their situational bias.

Playing against the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center on Monday, the Golden State Warriors arguably lost the game the moment they lost Draymond Green.

Dubbed the “heartbeat” of the team, Draymond was deemed unable to return to the game due to a pelvic contusion, which he received after taking a knee from Spurs guard, Danny Green.

It was at the 9:10 mark in the second quarter that Danny Green had possession of the ball, easily blowing by Nick Young on the wing. Playing as the help defender, Draymond slid over to contest Danny’s drive, receiving an inadvertent knee to the groin in the process.

During his postgame press conference, Draymond posed what seemed like a rather fair question to the members of the media: Why didn’t any of the reporters ask him whether he thought the knee to the groin was deliberate?

Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle caught the rest of the quote, in which Draymond said, “If it had been me, y’all would’ve said I did it on purpose.” While I don’t think it’s right to openly accuse people of actions they have yet to commit, I have to admit that Draymond’s assumptions were reasonably based.

None of the media members present for Draymond’s postgame availability reported whether anyone had the Draymonds to directly respond, but frankly, the answer would have been pretty simple:

One guy has a long, documented history with inadvertent kicks to the groin, and the other doesn’t.

Emphasis on “inadvertent” because there’s absolutely no substantial proof that Draymond has ever intended to kick a player in their nether regions. Looking at every angle of every video available, even the league’s best analysts were unable to determine beyond reasonable doubt that Draymond had purposely kicked Steven Adams in the land down under.

Because let’s face it: it happens, and it happens to happen a lot.

That being said, Draymond has a past, and his reputation as a loose cannon will likely continue to haunt him for the rest of his NBA career. I’m not saying it’s fair, but it is what it is.

As Warriors fans, we appreciate the energy and the passion he provides the team both on and off the court. He’s incredibly vocal about everything, speaking his mind at every given opportunity.

This, however, was simply one battle that he had no chance of winning. If he’s gonna want the media to question everyone equally, then he’s gonna have to at least make some changes to his on-court persona.
