Steph Curry to Wear Low-Top Shoes Tonight vs Hawks
By Andrew Ites
Steph Curry will make his return to the floor tonight after missing six games with an ankle injury. He will be wearing low-top shoes during the game despite his ankle issues.
Steph Curry rolled his ankle for the fourth time this season during a game against the Spurs on March 8th. The Warriors have gone 2-4 in his absence as all of the other All-Stars on the roster have missed time as well.
Curry will be the lone All-Star on the court against the Hawks on Friday night, and he may have to carry a large offensive load in his first game back. He’ll be carrying that load while wearing his brand new Curry 5 shoe, which he described as a “mid-low” shoe.
"“These shoes are an evolution in my signature series and engineered to work in tandem with my braces better than any shoe previously,” Curry told ESPN’s Chris Haynes."

It’s comforting to hear Curry say that he will remain wearing his ankle braces, but Warriors fans have to wonder if the low-top shoes will provide the support he requires with his recurring ankle issues. The last thing this team needs is another rolled ankle from Steph with only 11 games left in the regular season.
Curry’s ankle injuries seemed to be a problem left in the past heading into this season, but he’s been in and out of the lineup all year long as those ankle nightmares have become a reality. He’s missed 21 games this season after playing 78+ games in each of the past five years.
Warriors fans don’t need to freak out about Curry wearing low-tops after coming off of another ankle injury, but it’s worth keeping an eye on in tonight’s game.
