Golden State Warriors expectedly fall to the Utah Jazz
The Golden State Warriors lost 110-91 to the Utah Jazz on Sunday at Oracle Arena.
It can be tough for any NBA team to win a game without their lone All-Star. In the case of the Golden State Warriors, they were forced to play without four.
Hosting the Utah Jazz on Sunday at Oracle Arena, the depleted Dubs roster looked completely out of their league, losing the contest 110-91. The Warriors’ regular season record drops to 54-19, which puts them 5.5 games behind the first seed in the Western Conference.
DubNation no doubt had high hopes going into the game, hoping the shorthanded Warriors would be able to find the will to work through adversity and pull off an upset win. After an encouraging 22-18 first quarter, however, everything pretty much went to sh*t.
Utah put up 35 points in the second quarter, which they followed up with an embarrassing 36-18 third quarter. The Warriors showed signs of life in the fourth, but it was far too late to do anything of consequence.
Quinn Cook led the way once again with Stephen Curry out of commission, pacing the Warriors with 17 points, four rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one block. He shot 7-of-15 from the field, 1-of-2 from behind the arc and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
Andre Iguodala was the only other Warriors player to finish in double-digit scoring, tallying 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. He shot 4-of-7 from the field, and his 4-of-5 shooting from behind the arc was one of the few bright spots for Golden State.

One of the other bright spots came from JaVale McGee, who recorded eight points, nine rebounds, one steal and two blocks. He was, without a doubt, the most exciting player to watch on the floor.
The other bright spot took the form of the some of the younger guys on the squad, namely Kevon Looney, Patrick McCaw, Jordan Bell and Damian Jones.
Looney played 24 minutes starting in the place of Draymond Green, posting six points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. He’s no Draymond, but the young big man has looked incredibly versatile since receiving his spike in the minutes.
McCaw dropped in eight points, two rebounds and three assists. It took him the majority of the night to finally find a rhythm, but his midrange pull-up jumpers were a welcome sight in the second half.
Bell played just 18 minutes in the loss to Utah, but he certainly made his presence felt whenever he touched the hardwood. He notched six points (3-4 FG), four rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Lastly, Jones showed everyone in Oakland what everyone in Santa Cruz has seen all year. He had six points and four rebounds on 3-of-4 shooting, which included a number of athletic, high-flying throwdowns .
