The reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors defeated the visiting Phoenix Suns at Oracle Arena on Easter Sunday…and April Fool’s Day.
The Golden State Warriors pulled a cruel, cruel April Fool’s Joke on Easter Sunday, defeating the Phoenix Suns 117-107 after allowing the Arizona team to establish a double-digit lead!
The Dubs got off to a relatively poor start to begin the night, going down 24-22 in the first quarter. The Suns continued to build on their lead to start the next quarter, going on a 14-4 run to start the second.
It was at the 5:34 mark in the second that the Suns established a 14-point lead, which was quickly answered by a 25-11 spurt from the Warriors to bring Golden State within one.
Per usual, the Dubs had a dominant quarter out of halftime going 36-18 in the third. Holding a 94-77 lead, the Warriors closed out the night with a 23-point fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Golden State improves their regular season record to 56-21, pushing their current win streak to two consecutive games. They’ll hit the road once again to visit the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Tuesday.
Kevin Durant paced the Warriors on Sunday against the Suns, recorded a near triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and two blocks in 35 minutes.

He was incredibly efficient shooting, going 12-of-19 from the field, 3-of-6 from behind the arc and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
In just his second game back from a fractured right thumb, Klay Thompson dropped in 23 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes.
He shot 10-of-19 from the field, 2-of-5 from long range and 1-of-1 from the charity stripe.
Quinn Cook continued to make a case for the Warriors to sign him to their playoff roster, posting 19 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals in 34 minutes of play.
Cook was just as efficient as KD, going 7-of-11 from the field, 3-of-5 from three and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. He finished a +24 behind KD’s team-high +29.
Draymond Green looked much more in rhythm against Phoenix, notching a double-double with 13 points, six rebounds, 12 assists, two steals and one block on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from long.

Jordan Bell added 10 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal on 5-of-7 shooting. He was a bench-high +9 in 16 minutes.
