Steph Curry’s latest injury issues have Warriors fans wondering if his durability should be a question mark moving forward.
Steph Curry will miss 31 games this season as he will be out until at least the first round of the playoffs with a sprained MCL.
Curry had already been struggling with injuries this year before JaVale McGee fell on his knee.
He had turned his ankle at least four times this season, and missed time for three different ankle sprains. The combination of his history with ankle injuries and spraining his MCL for the second time in his career begs the question of whether his health will be reliable as he plays into his 30’s.
Curry isn’t as small as most people think at 6′ 3″ and 190 pounds, and he’s been more durable than you’d expect after ankle injuries hampered the beginning of his career.

Steph had played in 78 or more games in five straight seasons before injuries ended his regular season early this year. And before this year, Curry had played in 74-plus games in seven of his eight seasons in the NBA.
While both of his sprained MCL’s can be chalked up to freak accidents, his ankle injuries have been a recurring problem in his career. The fact that he’s been unable to rely on the health of his ankles this season has to bring about some level of fear for the Warriors’ fanbase.
He has fought hard in recovery and come back strong each time he sprained his ankle this year, but he can only do that for so long before his ankle troubles begin to have an effect on his on-court performance.
Steph has become one of the most durable players in the league after overcoming ankle injuries early in his career, and I believe he can work on improving the durability of his ankles and knees yet again.
However, being past his physical prime and the frequency of his injuries this year has to concern Warriors fans.
