Warriors Reportedly Discussing Contract with Quinn Cook
By Andrew Ites
The Warriors are looking to reward Quinn Cook with a multi-year contract after his successful run replacing Steph Curry, according to a report from ESPN’s Chris Haynes and Marc J. Spears.
Quinn Cook has been on a tear over the last few weeks as he has found his way into the Warriors’ starting lineup due to Steph Curry’s injuries.
Cook has scored double-digits in 11 straight games, including four games with over 20 points, and a career-high 30 points against the Bucks a week ago.
He’s averaging 14.9 points, 3.9 assists, 3.5 rebounds per game in 14 starts this season, and he’s shooting 46.2% from three-point land with a true shooting percentage of 61.5%.
Cook had been tearing it up in the G League before being called up to the NBA roster. He was scoring 25.3 points per game for the Santa Cruz Warriors with 8.1 assists and 4.7 rebounds, and he was shooting 43.7% from three with a true shooting percentage of 65%.

Cook’s shooting and playmaking ability make him a perfect fit in Steph Curry’s role in the offense. The Warriors have never really had a backup point guard that played in the same style as Steph, and Cook could finally be an answer to that problem.
The contract discussions have become “serious”, according to Haynes’ and Spears’ report, and Cook has created some leverage for himself with his incredible play.
We’ve taken a look at whose roster spot could be in jeopardy if the Warriors decide to make Cook a permanent part of the roster, and that will be a difficult decision for Golden State’s front office. The Warriors have until April 10th to get a deal done with Cook for him to be eligible for the playoff roster.
The Warriors’ G League system has done a great job in developing Cook, and he’s worked extremely hard to make the most out of his opportunity in Golden State.
