Warriors point guard Quinn Cook has earned a spot on the playoff roster and a multi-year contract with his impressive performance this season.

Quinn Cook has been working hard in the Warriors’ G-League program ever since he joined the organization in 2017, and he has made the most of his opportunity with the NBA squad this season filling in for the injured Steph Curry.

Cook currently has a streak of 12 straight games scoring in double digits, and he’s been contributing in other areas of the stat sheet as well with 4 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game since becoming the starter this season.

He has shot 45.7% from three with a true shooting percentage of 60.8% as his shooting has been a key part of the Warriors being able to maintain some sort of offensive success without Curry in the lineup.

Golden State needed to at least sign Cook to an NBA contract through the rest of the year in order for him to be eligible for the playoff roster, but they’ve gone a step further by agreeing to a two-year deal with the former Duke point guard.

Cook and the Warriors are expected to sign the contract on the final day of the regular season, according to Shams Charania.

Golden State needed to waive one of their players to create a roster spot for Cook, and they’ve done so by releasing Omri Casspi.

Casspi has had a bit of a disappointing season with the Warriors, and he’s missed the past 11 games with an injury so he was probably the most obvious candidate for a cut.

Cook has earned an opportunity to play under the bright lights of the postseason, and the Warriors will need him to play a large role if Curry is out for the first round.
