The Golden State Warriors suffered a blowout loss to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday to end the 2017-18 regular season.
Definitely not the way the Golden State Warriors wanted to end the 2017-18 regular season, but hopefully this blowout loss to the Utah Jazz acts as some sort of motivation for the Dubs going into the postseason.
In case you missed it, the reigning NBA champions were completely and utterly outclassed on Tuesday at Vivint Smart Home Arena, falling 119-79 to the scrappy inside-out system of Quin Snyder.
To briefly recap: the Dubs just looked out of their league all night. Stifled by the length of Rudy Gobert and confounded by the athleticism of Donovan Mitchell, the Warriors trailed the entire game, failing to develop any kind of rhythm on either side of the floor.
Golden State’s regular season win/loss record drops to 58-24, which marks the franchises’s worse in the Steve Kerr era. Standing at the second seed in the Western Conference, the Warriors will have to wait until the end of tomorrow night’s games to figure out which team they’ll face in the first round of the playoffs.
With the playoffs scheduled to start on Saturday, April 14, the Warriors will have the rest of the week off to rest, regroup and recuperate.
On the bright side, though, the Warriors didn’t add any other names to the injury list! #SelfPreservation
