Steph Curry was re-evaluated on Saturday in accordance with his three week timetable, and the Warriors doctors were happy with his progress.
Steve Kerr has told the media multiple times that Steph Curry will not play in the Warriors’ first round series against the Spurs.
The latest report suggested Curry is targeting a return in the second round if Golden State can get past San Antonio.
Mercury News writer Mark Medina tweeted a quote from the Warriors saying Steph has made “steady functional progress” after their re-evaluation on Saturday and that they will revamp and intensify his on-court rehab before another re-evaluation in a week.
That re-evaluation would come a day before the Warriors take on the Spurs in Game 4 of the first round. Re-evaluations don’t necessarily mean a return is imminent, but there is at least a possibility that Golden State’s training staff clears him to play when they take another look at him in a week.

The Warriors hope that they’ll have a comfortable lead in this series at that point and won’t need Steph’s services to close out the Spurs. However, San Antonio is always a tough out and it’s possible that Golden State heads into Game 4 with a 2-1 lead and need to pick up a win before heading back home.
I think Steve Kerr will be extremely hesitant to rush Steph back from an injury after he’s been in and out of the lineup all year long. But if the season is on the line and he’s cleared to play, I could see Curry coming back soon after his next re-evaluation.
Now that the timetable is reset, keep your eyes and ears open for an important update in a week.
