Early in his career, Dr. Stephen Strange was heralded as one of the best and brightest in his field. Unfortunately, he suffered a horrific, life-changing injury to his hands, permanently affecting his ability to be a surgeon.
Doctors believed he would remain paralyzed for the rest of his life, limiting his potential to live his life to the absolute fullest. But he persevered, and with a little bit of magic, he found a new purpose, assuming the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme.
Shaun Livingston was also considered one of the best up-and-comers in basketball early in his career, but he also suffered a horrific, life-changing injury, which doctors believed would permanently affect his ability to walk.
Yet he, too, persevered, and maybe with a little bit of magic, he found a new purpose as an NBA player, assuming the mantle of veteran and mentor. He’ll never go back to being the player he was before, but he’s found a great deal of success in current role.
