After Steph Curry’s brilliant performance in Game 2, Steve Kerr has decided to insert him back into the starting lineup for Game 3.

There were plenty of questions to be answered about Steph Curry’s health as he made his return from an MCL sprain after missing approximately five weeks of basketball.

Steph answered all of those questions by scoring 28 points on 15 shots in just 27 minutes off of the bench on Wednesday night against the Pelicans.

Curry also grabbed 7 rebounds and swiped 3 steals to fill out the stat sheet as he finished the game with a remarkable plus-minus of +26.

Even though Steph was back, Steve Kerr left Nick Young in the starting lineup for Game 2 for two different reasons: the Warriors dominated in Game 1 with Young as a starter, and he didn’t want to put too much pressure on his two-time MVP in his first game back from injury.

It became apparent that Swaggy P could not stay in the starting lineup after he finished Game 2 with a plus-minus of -11 in just 11 minutes. And Steph also showed that he’s ready to play starter’s minutes.

One negative aspect of Curry’s performance in Game 2 was his 6 turnovers, but he’s always been able to cover up that weakness with his other offensive skills.

Despite Steph looking spectacular in his return, the Warriors want to remain cautious in working their superstar back into shape. Curry’s first game back from a similar injury in the 2016 playoffs was fantastic as well, but it became apparent that he was still hurt throughout the rest of the postseason.

Golden State needs to keep a close eye on Curry, but I think Steph has shown that he’s more than ready to re-enter the starting lineup.
