The Golden State Warriors advance to their fourth consecutive Western Conference Finals after their Game 5 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday at Oracle Arena.

After a convincing 113-104 Game 5 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday at Oracle Arena, the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors look primed to sweep the Houston Rockets come time for the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors opened the night with a 32-26 first quarter, establishing their rhythm early in the game. The Pelicans answered with a 30-27 second quarter, but it just wasn’t enough to eclipse Golden State’s narrow lead.

Then all hell broke loose in the third quarter as the Dubs went on a 25-4 run in the first half of the third quarter, forcing Alvin Gentry to call four full timeouts before the 6:25 mark in Q3. Anthony Davis continued to fight valiantly against his future team throughout the fourth, but the Warriors successfully closed out the night with a handful of big shots.

For those keeping count, this will be Golden State’s fourth-straight WCFs. They’ve emerged victorious in each of their three WCFs, winning a league title in two of their last three trips to the NBA Finals.
