Golden State Warriors lose Game 4 vs. Rockets, series shifts to 2-2

The Golden State Warriors failed to win Game 4 at Oracle Arena, shifting the series back in favor of the Houston Rockets.

Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals was an absolute rollercoaster from start to finish, ending with a narrow 95-92 defeat for the the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors. After going 1-1 at Oracle Arena, the Dubs will now be under pressure to win another game at the Toyota Center on Thursday.

Golden State looked to be in for another dominating victory after going up 12-0 in the first five minutes of the game, which eventually led to a 28-19 first quarter. As questions concerning Houston’s effort levels came up, the Rockets put that all to rest with a 34-18 second quarter, leading the Warriors into halftime 53-46.

Then Steph happened again in the third quarter: going 6-of-10 from the field and 5-of-8 from behind the arc, Curry dropped in 17 points in the third quarter after scoring just eight in the first half, bringing the Dubs back up by 10 going into the final 12 minutes.

The defending champs continued to have trouble holding off Houston’s late-game push, allowing yet another lead change in the middle of the fourth. Golden State inevitably failed to retake the lead, losing Game 4.

Game 4 Shenanigans

Stephen Curry paced the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday against the Houston Rockets, posting 28 points on 10-of-26 shooting from the field, 6-of-13 shooting from behind the arc and 2-of-2 shooting from the free throw line.

He added six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 39 minutes, finishing a team-high +10.

Kevin Durant recorded a double-double, tallying 27 points, 12 rebounds and three assists on 9-of-24 shooting from the field, 8-of-8 shooting from the free throw line but only 1-of-5 shooting from long range.

Draymond Green also had a double-double, notching 11 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block on 4-of-8 shooting.

Klay Thompson contributed 10 points and four rebounds in 39 minutes, shooting 4-of-9 overall.
