The Golden State Warriors found their rhythm against the Houston Rockets in the second half of Game 6, avoiding elimination.

The 2018 NBA Western Conference Finals will go the distance after the Golden State Warriors found a way to avoid elimination on Saturday in Game 6, defeating the Houston Rockets 115-86 at Oracle Arena.

Per usual, however, the Warriors started the game without a sense of urgency, giving Houston a 39-22 lead in the first quarter. Golden State eventually found some sort of rhythm in the second quarter, bringing the deficit back down to 10 by halftime.

Then in typical fashion, the Dubs went on a big third quarter run thanks to a much better defensive effort, holding the Rockets to just 16 points while scoring 33. The Warriors followed that up by limiting Houston to just nine points in the fourth, leading to a 26-point lead by the 4:30 mark.

Both teams will now head back down to the Toyota Center to play Game 7.

Rocco must be so proud

Klay Thompson showed up to Game 6 with a ruthless mentality, pacing the Golden State Warriors with 35 points on 12-of-23 shooting from the field and 9-of-14 shooting from behind the arc. He added six rebounds, two assists and four steals, posting a +32 in 39 minutes.

Saturday night’s performance was reminiscent of Klay’s Game 6 performance in 2016 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, in which he dropped in an NBA playoff record 11 threes on route to a 41-point performance.

Stephen Curry woke up late in the game, eventually finishing 29 points, five rebounds, six assists and three blocks on 12-of-23 shooting from the field and 5-of-14 shooting from long range. He was a team-high +33 in 40 minutes of play.

Kevin Durant tallied 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block in 35 minutes. He shot 1-of-4 from three, 10-of-14 from the free throw line and 6-of-17 overall.
