The Warriors are facing a couple of key injuries ahead of Game 2. They’ve received both good news and bad news on the status of their two starters.

The Warriors’ depth on the wing has been a question mark all season long, and that depth has been tested as Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson have been dealing with injury issues over the last couple of weeks.

Iguodala has been battling a mysterious left knee injury that has kept him out since Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against Houston.

He was originally diagnosed with a left knee contusion, but “inflammation of the nerve surrounding the left knee” has complicated his recovery and he will be sidelined again on Sunday night.

The Warriors’ Game 1 victory gives them a bit of breathing room to be cautious in bringing Iggy back too soon.

Iguodala is getting close to a return to game action, and I think there’s a solid chance he can play in Game 3.

Klay Thompson suffered a scary collision when J.R. Smith fell into his leg during Game 1 and caused Klay to head to the locker room. Thompson returned to the game and finished the night with 24 points in over 45 minutes of playing time, but he’s been dealing with some soreness in his ankle.

That won’t prevent Klay from playing on Sunday night, despite reports coming out that he’s been walking around with a noticeable limp.

The adrenaline of playing in the NBA Finals should help Thompson get through Game 2, but he will certainly be sore again come Monday morning.

With Iguodala out and Klay in, Golden State will take the floor with the same squad that came up victorious in Game 1.
