Warriors Sign Elite Scorer Kendrick Nunn as Undrafted Free Agent

The Warriors didn’t get the chance to make a second round pick, but they did sign undrafted rookie Kendrick Nunn to a partially guaranteed contract.
The Warriors have been extremely successful buying second round picks over the past couple of years, and fans expected them to use that strategy again this year.
However, NBA teams seemed reluctant in helping Golden State on their quest for a three-peat and apparently no one was willing to sell them a pick.
The Warriors were still able to add some young talent after the draft was over by signing former Oakland Golden Grizzly Kendrick Nunn to a partially guaranteed deal according to Ian Begley.
Nunn played the first three years of his college career at Illinois before transferring to Oakland University, which is located in Michigan, for his senior year.

Nunn was the second-leading scorer in all of college basketball last season averaging 25.9 points per game.
Nunn had a Steph Curry-esque skill set in college launching 11.3 three-point attempts per game. He made the most of that green light hitting 39.4% of his shots from deep.
He also has the exact same height and weight as Steph at 6-foot 3-inches and 190 pounds.
Nunn filled up the stat sheet with 4.7 rebounds per game along with 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals.
Nunn was successful against Big Ten competition at Illinois scoring 15.5 points per game in his final season with the Illini shooting 39.1% from three on 6.9 attempts per game.

While Nunn’s best comparison coming out of college is Steph Curry, the Warriors aren’t counting on him to become a two-time MVP. Instead, Golden State will hope he can follow a similar development curve to Quinn Cook who became an important member of the Warriors’ rotation last season.
