The Warriors begin their Summer League schedule tonight in Sacramento. Here’s what to watch for this offseason.

With the NBA Draft in the books and many of the major free agency contracts signed, it’s time to move our collective focus to the Summer League schedule.

The Warriors’ Summer League squad will play their first of three games in Sacramento tonight beginning at 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time on NBA TV.

Golden State opens Summer League against the Miami Heat tonight before taking on the Kings at 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 3rd. They’ll cap off their Sacramento Summer League schedule with a game against the Lakers at noon Pacific Time on Thursday, July 5th.

Here is the Warriors’ Summer League roster courtesy of the Warriors PR Twitter account:

  • Forward Aubdurexiti Abudushalamu
  • Guard Elijah Brown

The Warriors’ Summer League squad will be coached by former 12-year NBA veteran Willie Green.

The most notable player on Golden State’s Summer League roster is Jordan Bell who played 14.2 minutes per game for the Warriors as a rookie last season. He will likely focus on improving his overall offensive game and becoming more disciplined on defense in this year’s Summer League.

Damian Jones is the most experienced player on the roster as he’s entering his third season in the NBA. He’s only played 25 games for Golden State after being selected with the 30th overall pick in 2016, and he has a lot to prove if he’s going to earn a larger role in replacing JaVale McGee’s minutes with the Warriors next season.

The Warriors’ lone draft pick Jacob Evans will also be a player to keep a close eye on as he may be one of the top wings off the bench in 2018-19.

Kendrick Nunn is probably the most exciting player in this group as his game resembled Steph Curry at the college level scoring 25.9 points on 11.3 three-point attempts per game during his senior year.

The stakes at this year’s Summer League will be slightly lower than last month’s NBA Finals, but Warriors fans will be able to learn a lot about next year’s team from the players included in the Summer League roster.
