The Warriors will be without their Summer League star for their next game against the Mavericks as Jordan Bell is nursing a shoulder injury.

The Warriors want Jordan Bell to take a big leap in year two.

He’s in line for some big minutes at center next season as Golden State plans to bring DeMarcus Cousins back slowly from his Achilles injury.

A major step in Jordan Bell’s development is his second year in Summer League.

He performed well during his two appearances in the Sacramento Summer League.

Bell filled up the stat sheet with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 2 blocks in 33.5 minutes per game. The Warriors are now off to a 4-1 start in the Las Vegas Summer League and Bell has been a major key to their early success.

Chris Haynes is reporting that Jordan Bell will miss Monday afternoon’s game against the Mavericks with a sore left shoulder. According to Haynes, it’s not “expected to be a serious injury.”

Monday’s game is the final matchup on Golden State’s Summer League schedule. Bell has surely accomplished enough this offseason to earn a day off.

Bell’s offseason work won’t end with the conclusion of Summer League. He needs to improve his shooting and defensive discipline before the regular season begins.

The Warriors’ center depth chart is wide open while DeMarcus Cousins recovers, and Jordan Bell has put himself in a perfect position to take advantage of that opportunity.
