4. Bill Sharman

Bill Sharman took the Warriors all the way to the NBA Finals in his first year as head coach, but they fell short in the ’67 Finals losing to the 76ers in six games.

The Warriors made the postseason again in Sharman’s second season at the helm, and they won a first round series before getting swept by the Lakers in the second round.

Sharman compiled a regular season record of 87-76 with the Warriors, and the team went 13-12 in the playoffs in those two seasons.

Sharman moved on from the Warriors in 1968, and he eventually won a Coach of the Year award before his career was over.

Sharman oversaw the two most successful seasons in franchise history since their move to the Bay Area, and helped establish a winning culture in California.
