Steve Kerr may go down as the best coach in NBA history when his career is over.
The Warriors have gone 328-265 in the regular season during Kerr’s tenure, and his ridiculous 80.8% winning percentage ranks number one all time by a 10-point margin over one of his mentors, Phil Jackson.
Kerr also holds the record for best playoff winning percentage (75.9%) with Golden State’s 63-20 postseason record under his command.
Even if you subtract the wins that Luke Walton and Mike Brown piled up as interim coaches, Kerr is far and away the most successful coach in league history.
Kerr’s pace-and-space offense and ball movement has revolutionized the game, and has helped create one of the NBA’s most dominant dynasties.
Kerr has built the league’s most fun culture in Golden State, which allows his team to play fast, loose, and confident.
Along with defensive assistant Ron Adams, the Warriors have also built a suffocating modern defense to go along with their high-flying offense.
Steve Kerr has been blessed with incredible talent during his tenure in Golden State, but the Warriors wouldn’t be one of the greatest teams of all-time without the offensive system and culture he has formed.
