The Golden State Warriors will play on Christmas Day for the sixth year in a row as they are scheduled to take on LeBron James and the Lakers.

The Golden State Warriors have become the NBA’s premier franchise during the Steve Kerr era winning three of the last four championships including back-to-back titles.

Every NBA fan either loves or hate the Warriors, which makes them must-watch television on the blockbuster date on the league calendar.

Golden State has played on Christmas Day for five straight seasons, and they’ve faced LeBron James and the Cavaliers each of the past three years.

The NBA will keep the Warriors-LeBron rivalry going again on Christmas this year as the Lakers will travel to Oracle Arena to face Golden State.

The new-look Lakers probably don’t have the firepower to be championship contenders along with the Warriors at the top of the Western Conference, but having one of the league’s best players will make them a tough test.

Golden State is 3-2 in their last five Christmas Day games, including a 2-1 record against LeBron and a perfect 3-0 at home on Christmas.

Looking ahead, the Warriors’ biggest offseason addition probably won’t be able to play at that point in the season as DeMarcus Cousins is targeting January or February as his return date from a ruptured Achilles.

However, Golden State still has four other All-Stars on their roster that will make them substantial favorites over the Lakers on Christmas, especially with one of the best home court advantages in the league at Oracle Arena.
