Steph Curry told Bill Simmons that he wants to remain in Golden State for his entire career on the latest episode of the Bill Simmons Podcast.

Steph Curry‘s career has been a wild ride ever since he was selected by the Warriors with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

The second Don Nelson era in Golden State was winding down, and the franchise needed a breath of fresh air along with a new superstar to build around.

The Warriors were officially Steph’s team when they traded away his backcourt mate Monta Ellis in a move that got Joe Lacob booed at Oracle Arena.

Curry’s career took off almost immediately after the Monta Ellis trade, and he became a supernova when Steve Kerr unleashed him on the offensive end letting him use his unlimited range with ridiculous pull-up threes.

Steph has become an icon in Golden State, and he plans to stick with the same team that drafted him throughout his entire career:

"“This is home. This is where I want to be, for obvious reasons.”"

There have been rumors that Curry would want to go back home to Charlotte and play for the Hornets at some point in his career, but he shot that idea down in his latest interview with Bill Simmons.

"“I love the Bay Area, man,” said Curry. “The only reason I go home now is if my sister’s getting married or to go play the Hornets for that one game, so I haven’t really been back much. I haven’t put my mind there.”"

Staying in Golden State seems like a no-brainer for Steph.

He’ll be getting paid nearly $46 million per year by the end of his five-year $201 million deal, he is absolutely adored by Warriors fans, Steve Kerr’s offensive system is the perfect fit for his game, and he gets to play with the greatest collection of talent in NBA history.

Not to mention he can continue grow his brand on and off the court in one of the nation’s top media markets with a ton of business opportunities in the Bay Area.

While going home to Charlotte would be a fun story for Steph, there are way too many reasons for him to stay in Golden State rather than play for a middling Hornets franchise.
