Warriors fans got a glimpse of the progress DeMarcus Cousins has made in rehab after he shared a video of his workouts on Twitter.

The Warriors may have got the steal of the summer when they signed four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year deal worth $5.3 million, also known as the taxpayer mid-level exception, in free agency.

There were a few reason why Golden State was able to get such a talented player at a bargain price, and one of those factors was Cousins’ ruptured Achilles that ended his season last January.

Historically, NBA players have not returned to full athleticism after Achilles injuries, and it’s especially concerning when you consider Boogie’s tremendous size at 7-feet tall and 270 pounds.

However, the data on these types of injuries is murky at best and medicine has improved since we last saw an All-Star caliber player go down with this type of injury.

Fortunately, the Warriors are talented enough where they don’t need Cousins to be 100 percent healthy to win a title. But if he does return to that superstar level of production, they could be absolutely unstoppable.

We got a few nuggets from Boogie regarding his injury during his introductory press conference this summer, but his answers were fairly cliché and didn’t reveal much information.

Cousins shared this video on his Twitter feed to let the NBA world see what he’s been working on over the past seven months since his injury:

The video shows him dunking, nailing a bunch of jump shots, and it even contains a clip of him sinking a pull-up three-pointer to close it all out.

Honestly, his athleticism isn’t super impressive in this video, but he’s never been a high flyer throughout his career.

Cousins would be smart to stay patient in his rehab, even though he is entering a contract year where he wants to prove he can once again average 25 points, nearly 13 rebounds, and 5 assists like he did last season.

The Warriors will likely keep him on ice until about February, and then get him involved in the offense to get into a nice rhythm for the playoffs.

I’m sure there are plenty of workout videos to come over the next few months as Boogie continues the road to recovery.
