What should Bob Myers and the rest of the Golden State Warriors’ front office be looking to accomplish as they continue to build a dynasty?

The Golden State Warriors have accumulated the greatest collection of talent in NBA history.

While the recruiting efforts of Draymond Green and the unselfishness of Steph Curry have been major factors, the front office has made so many shrewd moves to form this dominant team.

The Warriors enter the season as prohibitive championship favorites, but the front office still has a lot of work to do to make sure this team stays together and even improves in the future.

The first two goals for Bob Myers and the rest of the front office are obvious, but they probably won’t be accomplished until next offseason: re-sign Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant.

Golden State can try and extend their contracts during the regular season, and they will continue to negotiate all year long. However, it’s unlikely that any deals get done before next summer.

So let’s focus on what the front office should get done this year.

More from Blue Man Hoop

The Warriors should be active in the buyout market this season and focus on acquiring a versatile wing.

While they did add rookie Jacob Evans in the draft, Golden State is still pretty thin at that position behind Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala. Hopefully a solid veteran becomes available midseason and wants to join a championship team.

The Warriors’ front office should also dive into the 2019 draft class as that is their only real opportunity to add cheap talent next offseason.

This roster is about to get even more expensive if Klay and KD sign extensions next offseason, and getting a key contributor in the draft will be essential to the sustainability of this dynasty.

Golden State’s front office has proven to be the best in the league during this championship run, and I believe they’ll be able to accomplish each of these goals this season.
