Golden State Warriors’ fans should highlight January 26, the date the team heads to the Northeast and takes on the Boston Celtics.

The Golden State Warriors take on the Boston Celtics twice this season, one at home and one away. For the sake of clarifying whose NBA this is, the Golden State Warriors and their fans should mark January 26, the day the Dubs visit Boston.

The Boston Celtics have received quite a bit of hype this offseason.

After taking the LeBron James-led Cavaliers to seven in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics will be returning two legit stars in Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Those two stars will completely change the dynamic of their team.

Just like Golden State had to figure out, the Celtics will really have to understand each other in order to not selfishly take over games. They will have three stars, one up-and-coming star, and a dynamic two-way veteran to go along with their stellar bench.

There isn’t much to dislike about the Celtics roster. And, while the eliteness of the roster might only last through this season, they’ll be one of the few teams projected to really give the Dubs a run for their money.

Because of that, seeing how Golden State manages to come out against one of the East’s top teams during the middle of the season will be intriguing. They’ll have to play with an energy they don’t often show during the regular season.

It could also be around the time the Dubs see Boogie Cousins return to action.

While this isn’t their only note-worthy matchup, it is certainly the one fans should anticipate most.

The Dubs will have primetime home and away games against both the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers as well. However, without a second star, the Lakers shouldn’t be as much a problem, and with the departure of Ariza, the Rockets might lose a bit of their sting.

Overall, it’s the Celtics the Warriors need to beat to silence any haters.

And, in the end, that game really doesn’t matter. It should be the top game circled on fan’s calendars, but until the postseason, we may not see the true force of Golden State.

Either way, it’s about a month from the start of the NBA season, and it feels like it can’t come soon enough.
