The Golden State Warriors aren’t in the market for Jimmy Butler, but if he’s traded, it will certainly impact them in some way.

Coming into this offseason, we all knew Minnesota Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler was unhappy in his current situation. However, nothing that impacted the Golden State Warriors ever came to fruition.

Well, now, the ball is rolling on Butler and a trade could be brewing.

Per the Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, the Wolves and Butler will meet soon to discuss his future.

"Jimmy Butler will meet with Timberwolves president and coach Tom Thibodeau and GM Scott Layden on Monday to “have honest conversations” about the All-Star’s future with the team as he seriously contemplates his situation, league sources told The Athletic."

That’s a pretty intriguing report. Honest conversations make the casual reader believe something is going to happen in the near future. The Wolves finished 8th last season and were knocked out by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs.

Butler had a solid season in Minnesota. He averaged around 22 points, five rebounds and five assists per game, good enough to be nominated for his fourth straight All-Star appearance. However, as a team, their success didn’t mimic Butler’s individual success.

He showcased his displeasure with the organization several times throughout the season and even called out his teammates throughout the process saying he was ‘fed up‘ with them. This isn’t a new dilemma, it’s something that was brewing all last season and is now just escalating.

That said, if something does happen, how might it impact the Dubs? There are three potential side effects from a Jimmy Butler trade.
