Pure Starpower

The Dubs, following DeMarcus Cousins return, could start the best lineup of all time. Name a team with five players all in the top five of their respective position on the same team. There’s not been a team more loaded than the Golden State Warriors.

Let’s start with fan-favorite and Warrior wonderboy Steph Curry.

More from Blue Man Hoop

Curry is a two-time MVP and the league’s only unanimous MVP. Playing in over 50 games in all but one season, his health has also not been a huge issue for the Warriors except for at the beginning of the 2018 playoffs.

A healthy Curry could lead this team to the playoffs by himself, but he doesn’t have to carry the load alone.

The Warriors two-guard Klay Thompson, who is in the last year of his contract, has also evolved to be one of the league’s best at the two. He’s averaged over 20 points and three threes per game for four straight seasons. His defensive is also a trademark of his success.

As for the frontcourt, Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins (or Jordan Bell) and Kevin Durant seem like a combination only a video game could provide. Cousins and Durant respectively averaged 25.2 and 26.4 points per game last season.

Cousins actually put up a line the league had never seen before. He averaged 25+ points, 2+ threes, 12.5+ rebounds, 5+ assists and more than one block and steal per game. While his Achilles’ injury might set him back a bit, at 75%, Cousins is still a top-five center.
