Damian Jones

The Golden State Warriors 30th pick back in 2016 NBA Draft, Damian Jones already has two championship rings to his name, but he’ll be looking to get much more valuable playing time this season to prove his place long-term with this Warriors team.

Jones has been hampered with injuries during his short career and has spent much of the time with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the G-League affiliate of the team.

Even with the addition of DeMarcus Cousins, Jones has a valuable opportunity ahead of him as Steve Kerr and the coaching staff has made it known they want to see what he can bring to the table.

The re-signing of Kevon Looney, who showed tremendous growth last year and provided valuable minutes in the Warriors championship run, makes it even more imperative for Jones to have a good outing, whenever those minutes come his way.

The depth at center for the Warriors is a bit crowded, with Jordan Bell and Kevon Looney leading the way and DeMarcus Cousins’ return to the lineup on the horizon. However, should an injury occur to either of the above, Jones would be the next man up.

His physical attributes make him an appealing play at the center position, so whenever he gets minutes on the court he’ll need to showcase all his skills given that he’ll be auditioning to stay with this Golden State team or possible for a role with another franchise in the future. -PH
