The Golden State Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson said he’s ‘perfectly content’ in the Bay and continuing their league-wide dominance.

There isn’t a better backcourt in the league than the Golden State Warriors duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Thompson, who is a free agent this upcoming offseason, isn’t planning on breaking that backcourt up anytime soon.

Per NBC Sports, Thompson knows he’s in a unique and ideal situation.

"“When guys go into free agency, they’re searching for a situation like mine or similar to our team,” the four-time All-Star said.“I’m perfectly content here.”"

Albeit Durant’s addition created arguably the best team the league had ever seen, the core three of Draymond Green, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson built this dynasty. Klay knows he’s been a vital part of what’s been happing in the Bay.

That come up could also be a reason he stays.

"“Just look around the walls at all the art and to see I was a part of this buildup is what keeps me motivated and keeps me wanting to be a Warrior for my whole career,” he said."

Thompson, one of the league’s most dynamic two-way stars, has averaged 20+ points and 3+ threes per game over the last four seasons. He’s reached the All-Star game all four of those seasons as well.

He’s seen insurmountable success in Golden State, and while a trip to Los Angeles, the closest major city to Thompson’s childhood home, might be appealing, the success found in Golden State wouldn’t likely follow him.

Thompson also understands that his situation is what many free agents dream of. That’s one reason why the Dubs have been able to sign an array of players for far below their market value. However, it’s not if Thompson’s worth the money, it’s if Golden State can find the money.

There’s also one other big if, and that’s IF Kevin Durant wants to stay in the Bay as well. If both want to stay, they’ll be in a terrific predicament. They’ll be able to keep both, but both superstars might have to take a marginal pay cut to be able to keep the core together. Then, it’d be on Draymond Green to keep the unselfish attitude as he’s a free agent the following offseason.

All that to say, expect Klay to stay in the Bay.
