#1: Curry’s 38-foot Game-Winner vs. OKC

In February 2016, the Warriors carried their impressive 52-5 record into OKC for a clash with Russell Westbrook and future teammate Kevin Durant.  It was hyped as a clash of Western Conference powers, and a true test of the Warriors’ insane run that season.

With the Warriors down 11 at halftime, Draymond Green delivered a passionate speech laced with words he should never say in front of kids.  His tirade sparked the Warriors to a much better and more focused second half performance.

The Warriors clawed their way back in the game, and Andre Iguodala made two crucial free throws with 0.5 seconds left to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Curry ended up with 46 points, and this game would have gone down as an instant classic regardless of how it finished.  But the ending was truly remarkable.

After a missed runner by Westbrook that would’ve taken the lead, Curry got the ball with seconds left in OT.  There was no doubt about who was taking the last shot.

Jogging past the half-court line, Steph still had a couple of seconds to get closer to the 3-point line for a better look.

Instead, to the surprise of everyone in the building except for Steph himself, he pulled up from 38 feet, a good margin further than the typical three-pointer.

The ball sailed and hung in the air for a couple of seconds, before finding its rightful place inside the basket.  It sent the Warriors bench into a frenzy and prompted Steph to do the Bernie Lean in celebration.  Curry’s incredible, deep game-winner would no doubt go down as one of the best game-winners in Warriors history.

A wild finish capped an incredible game, and Curry’s deep three sealed the win and the Warriors’ greatness that season.

A couple of years later, it still stands as one of the crowning moments of Curry’s already-illustrious career and sits firmly atop the list as the Warriors’ most epic regular season moment since 2014.

With the 2018-19 season looming, the NBA world can only expect more great game-winners, remarkable record-breaking nights, and memorable moments with this special Warriors team still in their prime.
