Far from needing another All-Star, the Golden State Warriors might be a perfect trade partner for the Timberwolves, who have Jimmy Bulter on the block.

It’s not all too common that a four-time All-Star gets put on the trading block. However, it’s clear that Jimmy Bulter and the Minnesota Timberwolves are far beyond repairing their broken relationship. Could the Golden State Warriors make a splash trade for Butler?

The Dubs only have a handful of players they’d be willing to deal, limiting any potential deal. Clearly, the core five, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins are off the block.

At this point, a key aspect of any Butler deal will be the urgency that Minnesota wants him gone. Do the Wolves take a lesser deal to rid themselves of the Butler mistake? While it’s not too likely, this saga will just unnecessarily continue as the season starts in a few weeks.

The Wolves have discussed a Butler trade with just about every team, being rejected by the Bucks and Sixers. The most likely team to bring in Butler seems to be the Miami Heat, yet the Wolves asking price is still too steep for even Pat Riley.

As the uncertainty grows, the Golden State Warriors could slide in and become the dark horse team to trade for Butler. That said, here are three reasons they should give it a try.
