3 trades the Golden State Warriors could make for Jimmy Butler
Option No. 2
The Golden State Warriors aren’t going to be drafting in the lottery for quite some time. Might as well get some value for those picks. However, it’s also difficult trading for Butler with the assumption that he’ll be leaving after this season.
The first-round picks would assume to be the 2018 first and the 2020 first since it’s not possible to trade back-to-back picks. Again, this trade is more friendly for the Wolves who can choose their pick instead of just inheriting Jacob Evans, albeit Evans is a great player with a bright future.
The Wolves want to stay in the playoff hunt, and obtaining a veteran like Andre Iguodala should keep them at least among the West’s top-eight teams.
People underrate his value. Iguodala’s first season in Golden State, the team was a resounding +18.0 points better with him on the court. He’s an elite defender and an efficient scorer.
The Wolves may be looking for more of an up-and-coming talent though, which is why Josh Richardson is such an ideal prospect for them. If they don’t entertain an offer from Miami, this is another route they could take.
